Weight Gain if You Stop Exercising: True or False

If you are following an exercise regimen, you would have heard of people saying that you have to keep the routine as you will gain weight later on once you stop. So the question is, is it true or not? The answer is simple. If you stopped exercising for whatever reasons and continue to eat the same the same way – same portion, same calorie count, as the time you were exercising, then the answer is absolutely yes, you’ll definitely gain weight. It’s not rocket science. If you do not want to gain weight and would have to give up your exercise regimen, then make sure you reduce your calorie count to make sure you do not end up with a few more extra pounds. Simply put, the amount of fat that you will be putting on, is directly proportional to the number of calories you will not be burning.

So in case, it is entirely inevitable to give up exercise, try doing simple activities that will help you increase your movement and increase calorie burn.
