The pink, scaly and rather odd looking exotic fruit is said to make wonders for cases of constipation. In the Philippines, a lady was awarded for sharing this discovery and for their relentless efforts in growing dragonfruits. The said lady is Edita Aguinaldo-Dacuycuy.
Mrs. Dacuycuy, upon proving that the Dragonfruit is their solution to their daughter’s constipation, initially growed the plant for their personal consumption. But convinced about the health benefits of the fruit, she and her family decided to go full scale by planting more trees and much later on extending the land area dedicated for the growing of the said trees.
Asid from being rich in fiber, the fruit is likewise high in vitamins and minerals. It is also regarded for its anti-aging properties. Well, I guess I’ll have to look for this fruit later on, to help my son with his constipation.
